CyberFly

A drone ranging from small to mid-size, built to get a cyber payload somewhere a person can’t easily go — through a window, onto a windowsill, or perched on a roof — and keep it there conducting a WiFi/Bluetooth penetration test for as long as the mission needs. Multiple WiFi cards and on-board mini computers run the attack tooling, and a 4G/5G link gives the operator full remote control of the payload with no need to be in local radio range.
If you know what a WiFi Pineapple is, this is the flying, perching version of it — except instead of sitting on a desk in the building you’re testing, it flies itself there.
Overview
Most WiFi/Bluetooth penetration testing still starts with a person physically getting a device inside or near the target — on-site, badge access, a friendly face at reception, or a box left running in a stairwell. CyberFly removes that step. It flies the payload in, lands somewhere discreet (a roof, a ledge, a windowsill), and goes quiet, running the pentest tooling for however long the engagement calls for while the operator drives everything remotely over 4G/5G.
Because it’s not tethered to a nearby operator on 2.4/5GHz, the drone itself never has to loiter in RF range of the target and doesn’t need to be recovered mid-engagement to change tasking — new attacks, new targets and new scans can all be pushed to it over the mobile network.
Key Features
- Multiple WiFi cards: Several radios running in parallel for simultaneous scanning, sniffing and attack across bands and channels.
- On-board mini computers: Runs the penetration testing stack itself, in the air or perched, rather than just relaying raw traffic.
- 4G/5G remote link: Full remote control and live data return with no dependency on being within WiFi/Bluetooth range of the operator.
- WiFi and Bluetooth sniffing: Captures and analyses wireless traffic from the target site.
- Network attack capability: Including disabling wireless cameras and gaining access to networks.
- Perch and persist: Lands on a roof or ledge to conserve battery and run a long, quiet engagement instead of a short loitering flight.
- Size options: A small, hard-to-detect airframe for quick, low-signature testing, or a larger airframe with a long-standby battery for extended engagements.
Configurations
| Option | Choices |
|---|---|
| Airframe size | Small (discreet, quick deployment) or larger (long standby) |
| Battery | Minimal for short/covert tasking, or extended for prolonged missions |
| Radios | Multiple WiFi cards, configurable for the engagement |
| Connectivity | 4G/5G, for remote tasking and data return |
| Deployment | In flight, or perched/landed on a roof, ledge or windowsill |
Final specifications depend on the configuration selected. Contact us for a confirmed data sheet.
Specialist / Restricted Capability
CyberFly airframes can also be built to carry IMSI catcher / stingray-type payloads. This capability sits under UK legal restrictions on IMSI-catching equipment, so we vet every customer before supplying it and only build it for appropriately authorised organisations — law enforcement, government and military — operating under the correct legal authority. Get in touch to discuss requirements; this option is not available off the shelf.
Applications
- Physical/red team penetration testing: Get a WiFi/Bluetooth attack platform into or onto a building without a person going in first.
- Corporate and perimeter security assessments: Test what’s reachable from outside the walls, or from a roof, that a site assumed was out of range.
- Law enforcement and government cyber operations: Vetted, authorised deployments including the specialist capability above.
- Persistent, low-signature engagements: Perch-and-monitor testing over hours rather than a single short pass.
Works With
- FireFly micro drone: Same size class and building-entry approach, for teams already using FireFly for physical search who need a cyber tasking option too.
- DarkLake: Stream telemetry, position and status back to the team over the same 4G/5G link, with secure, permissioned access for stakeholders.
Why Firefly
- Designed and built in the UK, with configurable radios and payloads to order.
- Small or large airframe depending on how covert or how long the engagement needs to be.
- Specialist capability available to vetted, authorised customers only.
- Part of the wider Firefly ecosystem — DarkLake and FireFly integration on request.
